What is Creat-a-thon ?

Creat-A-Thon 7.0 is the seventh edition of the prestigious national-level hardware hackathon, organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE).
The event is designed to ignite innovation by challenging young minds to develop practical, real-world hardware solutions within an intense 30-hour continuous hacking session.
Creat-A-Thon serves as a dynamic platform where participants transform ideas into working hardware prototypes, validate their concepts, and gain valuable exposure through interaction with industry experts and mentors. The hackathon encourages creativity, teamwork, and technical excellence under real-time constraints.

About Us

About the Institution

Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Govt. of India and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka. It has the widest choice of Engineering branches having 20 undergraduate courses & 06 postgraduate courses. In addition, it has 18 research centers in different branches of Engineering catering to research scholars for obtaining a Ph.D. under VTU. Various courses are accredited by NBA. The Institute is spread over 23 acres of land with a requisite infrastructure supported by laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment & machines. The central library, with modern facilities and a digital library, provides the knowledge base for the students. The college has good faculty strength with the highest professional integrity and commitment to academics with transparency in their actions. The faculty are research-oriented, having a number of sponsored R&D projects from different agencies such as the Department of Science & Technology, Defense R&D organizations, Indian Space Research Organization, AICTE etc.

About the Department

The EEE Department at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering was established in 1979 and has since reached numerous achievements, including (i) receiving accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in New Delhi four times, (ii) holding a permanent affiliation with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), etc. The department is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and advancing the art and science of electrical and electronics engineering. Our faculty is a diverse group of esteemed professionals and researchers who are deeply passionate about their subjects and dedicated to making a difference in the students’ lives. They are at the forefront of their fields, working on cutting-edge research that ranges from power systems, power electronics, and energy conversion to advanced electronics, intelligent systems and control, and communications. The department places a high value on real-world exposure, organizing regular industrial visits to bridge academic learning with industrial practice. The department has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with many leading industries.

About IEE E PES DSCE

IEEE PES DSCE Student Branch Chapter (SBC) was established in 2017 with the objective of fostering technical knowledge and professional growth in the field of power and energy systems. Since its inception, the chapter has remained consistently active, organizing technical talks, workshops, industry interactions, and student-centric initiatives. The sustained efforts and quality of activities have been recognized at the IEEE level, with the chapter being honored as Best Chapter on two occasions. Through continuous engagement and a strong commitment to excellence, IEEE PES DSCE SBC provides a dynamic platform for students to learn, collaborate, and contribute to the evolving power and energy sector.
